Dear friends,

This year, we celebrated the fifth anniversary since Chakung Jigme Wangdrak Rinpoche founded the Abhaya Fellowship to preserve and propagate the Buddhist teachings in the West. 

We have witnessed many changes in our world, yet Rinpoche's teaching and activities have continued and expanded in 2021: through Saturday morning gatherings on Zoom and online retreats; through events co-hosted with distinguished teachers; through a new website where transcripts, poetry, and video blessings are made freely available; through spiritual support for sangha members and their loved ones in transition. Rinpoche addressed environmental concerns on many levels in his teachings and has encouraged us to protect the inner environment as well as the outer environment and natural world.

The Abhaya Fellowship would also like to recognize one of Rinpoche’s personal accomplishments this year: 2021 saw the fruition of his vision to restore the Nyingma Gyudbum woodblocks at Dege Publishing House in Eastern Tibet.  Such a project is undertaken every 200 or 300 years; the woodblocks were completed in June after beginning over 13 years ago.

The Abhaya Fellowship relies on the generosity of members and donors to support Chakung Jigme Wangdrak Rinpoche’s teaching, the community, the Buddhist tradition, and all sentient beings.  Please consider a donation of any amount to keep these teachings alive and strong.  A limited number of Dudjom Lingpa crystals are also available as a gift with a donation over $300.
